How it works

Ninety seconds, start to sent.

There is no app, no wallet to set up, and nothing for your friend to sign up for. You pay the way you would for any gift card. They get an email.

Every taproom sets its own pint value, and that value goes toward whatever they order. A $9 pint in one city and a $7 pint in another each cover a round of one.

They show it at the bar

The code only goes live when they tap it standing at the bar, so nothing gets spent by accident.

pints are hanging on community boards right now, bought by people who will never meet whoever drinks them.

Pints on the board

Some pints aren't for anyone in particular.

A brewery hangs a board. You add a pint. Someone who has earned one takes it down. No names change hands, and nothing gets announced.

A DD-214, a VA Card, a unit shirt, or just say the word. We're not going to interrogate anybody.

People mostly use it for the same three reasons.

Somebody moved away. You keep meaning to call. This takes ninety seconds and lands as a beer in their hand at a bar they already like.

The long-distance round.

A shift ended badly, or ended well. A pint on the board is there when whoever needs it walks in, with nobody having to ask.

The board.

A thank-you that isn't flowers and isn't a gift card to a place they never go.

The small thanks.
